The district president of district Jammu Urban of National Conference conducted tour of Bakshi Nagar Rolki, Talab Tillo, Anand Nagar, Kabir Colony and Janipur Areas of Jammu West today where he interacted with inhabitants of the areas and listened to their grievances. The major problem which inhabitants brought to the notice of the district president was acute of shortage of drinking water in the areas. They apprised Sharma that they are suffering badly as the condition of water supply of drinking water is very poor.
Sharma said that it is very unfortunate that no efforts have been taken by the concerned departments to provide regular water supply in Jammu city. The condition of water supply and electricity is so much poor in the city what so say of remote and far-flung areas who are suffering badly.
He has upon government to ensure regular water supply to the people. He said national conference will fight for the problems of the weaker section of the society.
He said, due to washing away of Sitli Filtration Plant areas of Jammu West have been badly effected. He expressed his concern that despite lapse of more than two months, the Sitli Filtration Plant has not been started. He stressed upon the government to ensure that Sitli Filtration Plant is started at the earliest. He said if government failed to start Sitli Filtration Plant National Conference will hold a massive protest against the utter failure of the coalition government.
