Shun violence, engage in dialogues process: PSYF to Kashmir Youth | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, September 8: Pahari Speaking Youth Forum (PSYF) has appealed to the youth of Kashmir to shun path of violence and engage themselves in dialogues which is the only viable solution to any problem. Addressing a press conference here today, PSYF chairman Abrar Khan said the life-line of the valley tourism sector has been one of the worst hit as close to 60000 people have already lost their jobs due to tension and unrest and as per estimate the valley is losing about Rs 2500 crores every week primarily in exports/imports and the services industry. Welcoming the recent employment package of the state government announced by chief minister Omar Abdullah on eve of independence day for appointing more than fifty thousand youth in the state, he urged the state government to “reserve special quota” in the employment for Pahari speaking youth as this community is the most backwardand neglected community in the state and requires empowerment on all the fronts. President of the forum Gurdev Singh Thakur appealed the state government to appoint the new vice chancellor or the BGSBU as the tenure as well as extension period of the VC had already ended and under the university act of BGSBU the VC cannot be given further extension and urged that new VC should b appointed from Pahari speaking community. Among those present in the press conference included Sajaad Iqbal Khan, Shahid Ashraf, Shaeen Ajaz, Ashwani Sharma, Shafiat Hussain, Nadeem Khan, Sheraz Malik and Azar Usman Khan.
