Release all prisioners on Eid eve: Bhim Singh to PM | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 8: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to release all political detenues and youth, arrested for stone pelting, on Eid. "We appeal to the Prime Minister to release all political detenues booked under Public Safety Act and other youth and students, who have been arrested in connection with stone-pelting incidents in Kashmir, on the eve of Eid," party chief Bhim Singh told reporters here. Singh condemned the killings of four persons on September 6 at Pattan, 30 kilometers from here, in Baramulla district, and demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident. Singh also accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of converting the entire Kashmir Valley into a "prison cell" by imposing "unwanted, undesirable and illegal" curfew throughout the region. He demanded lifting of the curfew and freedom to the locals to pray wherever they want, move wherever they desire on the occasion of the Eid. Singh hosted an Iftaar party in Srinagar last evening. Singh also appealed to the youth and students not to resort to stone pelting.
