BJP hold protest against Autonomy across Jammu region

Jammu, Sept 8: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as part of its state-wide protests against Autonomy, staged dharnas in 41 constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir, which were led by the state office bearers and the local MLAs.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, alongwith party MLA from Nagrota Jugal Kishore Sharma, led protest at Nagrota.
Dharna was attended by over 600 party activists from different parts of the constituency.
Manhas said no one from the masses in Jammu, Kashmir or Ladakh has uttered even a single word in favour of Autonomy during all these years of Independence except Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“Unable to control law and order in the Kashmir Valley hence Chief Minister is trying to divert the attention of the people from the real problems confronting the state,” pointed Omar Abdullah.
He said the Autonomy is a dead issue and the only issue which needs to be concentrated on is the implementation of the 1994 unanimous resolution of Parliament of India, which stands for taking back the illegally occupied PoK from Pakistan.
Leading the protests at Rehari Chungi, Leader of BJP Legislators Party Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta warned that any kind of Autonomy or other such like concessions would lead to more problems.
He alleged that under certain vested interests from within and outside, are deliberately demoralizing the security forces fighting the proxy war but this must be stopped and all kinds of seccessionism should be dealt with by adopting the approach that “enough is enough” and all the concerned must be made clear that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.
Taking a dig at Congress, Gupta alleged that the perpetrators of secessionism and limited relationship with India are the products of the Congress, which have been employing them to their politics from time to time. Large number of party activists took part in this protest at Rehari Chungi.
Member National Executive Dr. Nirmal Singh, while addressing the dharna at Samba, said that the NC should leave day dreaming over the issue of Autonomy and rather it should stress on abrogation of Article-370 which has induced a sense of separatism and resulted into economic deprivation of the people of the state.
MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria at Shalimar Chowk , said that the BJP has made numerous sacrifices to defeat the nefarious designs of such elements which have been working to weaken the Indian sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir by making demand like Autonomy, Self-Rule etc.
“For BJP national interests in the state are on priority and to safe guard them is the prime duty of each activists of the party”, asserted Khajuria.
Similar dharnas were organized at Bishnah, Gandhi Nagar, R.S. Pura, Suchetgarh, Marh and Raipur-Domana under the leadership of Sat Sharma (C.A), Rajesh Gupta, Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat, Shyam Choudhary, Sukhnandan Kumar and Bharat Bhushan respectively.
Sofi Yousuf, State vice-president, led the protest dharna near Press Colony in Srinagar city and Phuchung Tundup led the dharna at Leh city.
State Vice-President Chander Prakash Ganga led the protest dharna at Vijaypur while Durga Dass led the dharna at Hiranagar.
Protests were also reported from Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Kishtwar and other parts of Jammu region.
Terming autonomy medicine an expired and not fit for ailment of this state, Rajouri BJP today hold protest demonstration against the New Delhi’s flexibility towards autonomy and burnt the copies of the document in front of Tehsildar office Rajouri. They instead demanded to delimit assembly constituencies in the state so that the discrimination with 70 percent people is stopped.
As per reports, a protest demonstration led by State Secretary of the party Advocate Vibodh Gupta and District President Yogesh Sharma was held here to stage their protest against the implementation of autonomy in the state. They also raised anti-Congress slogans and termed it a party who has succumbed the pressure of 30 percent people of this state.
The protestors on the occasion burnt copies of autonomy report and said that the report is outdated and cannot be applied in the present circumstances. “This is an outdated idea and it will create a gap between New Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir”, Vibodh Gupta said adding that this will also result fatal for the people of Jammu province.
BJP activists in Udhampur led by their leader Pawan Gupta today held a massive Dharna at Gole Market in protest against government’s proposal of autonomy. Dharna started at 10 a.m and lasted nearly two hours where 500 BJP activists took part. Addressing the protesting activists, Pawan Gupta said that the soft policies being adopted by are a serious cause of concern for all the nationalist forces. He said that the people of the state will never accept the policies of the government. Gupta alleged that instead of putting a check on hard liner separatists like Sayeed Ali Shah Gilani, the government is advocating autonomy for the state which is completely unacceptable for the people of J&K.
Reasi BJP also observed 'Save Kashmir Day' by holding protests and demonstrations at district headquarter tomorrow against the "failure" of the Jammu and Kashmir government and the Centre in maintaining law and order in the state.
"BJP today observed Save Kashmir Day across the state. The party would stage protest programmes in all parts of the state against capitulating policy of the Congress-led Government before separatists and terrorists on Kashmir issue,” BJP MLA from Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma said.
BJP’s District Unit Kishtwar also held a protest at Kishtwar under the leadership of Hukam Chand District President, in which several party workers and supporters participated, they cautioned the center Govt. not to consider any move like NC’s autonomy or PDP’s Self Rule, as both are the dangerous views rather anti nation activity.
