| Two tax avoiders arrested, goods worth lakhs seized | | | LAKHANPUR | OCT 26
Two Photostat machines and some electronic goods worth lakh of rupees being smuggled to Jammu were seized by the police here today.
As per reports SHO, Lakhanpur, Surinder Choudhary on a tip off about the smuggling of Photostat machine and electric goods in a Gypsy Jeep under No. PB20-0060 laid a naka in the area and stopped the vehicle approaching towards Jammu. During checking smuggling goods were recovered and arrested two persons, who later on were handed over to sale tax authorities. Sale Tax deptt. Impose a fine of Rs.3.50 lakh on them.
The arrested persons namely Hira Lal S/o Krishan Lal and Parishad Gulati S/o Ravi Kumar Gulati, both resident of Pathankot. As per source the duo had been active since long the business to save tax.
