Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 9: Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha activists today throng Rajouri streets and hold protest demonstration against Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department for non-supply of ration to the people in area. They also burnt effigy of the concerned minister.
Led by State Secretary of BJYM Koushal Gupta and District President Varun Chandan, the protestors raised anti-government slogans and accused CAPD department of non supply of ration to the residents. They burnt effigy of Minister of State Shabir Ahmed Khan and said that the local minister failed to check supply of ration in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, State Secretary of Yuva Morcha, Koushal Gupta said that Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department has failed to supply ration to the people of Rajouri even in the festival season. They said that government had announced supply of one kilogram of extra sugar to each family in the month of Ramzan but no family has allegedly been given the same. Gupta said that there is also shortage of ration in most of the areas of Rajouri and CAPD department is sleeping somewhere. Alleging that the department has turned defunct for the last 3 years, Gupta said that the locals are suffering a lot and ministers are enjoying air conditioned accommodations in Jammu and Srinagar cities.
Threatening to gherao minister during his visit to Rajouri, BJYM leaders said that if the people of the area were not given ration they will not allow the minister concerned to enter Rajouri.
Meanwhile BJJM leaders have condemned attack of some miscreants on BJP leader Farooq Khan in Manjakote area. District President of BJYM, Varun Chandan said that their leader Farooq Khan was recently attacked by some miscreants in Manjakote only because he had highlighted ration issue in the area. He said that when Khan raised voice against the "loot" of CAPD department in Manjakote area, he was mishandled by some local people following which police came into action and he was saved from further torture. "Some people in the areas belonging to Muslim community are targeting BJP leaders and this will not be tolerated", Chandan said adding that they will retaliate if the miscreants continue to harass their leaders.
