Kisaan movement opposes use of chemicals | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Sept 9: Kisaan Movement has opposed existing chemical based agriculture technology saying that it is both fatal and poisonous. Movement said this during one-day conference in Kathua. It said that apart from being most polluted and poisonous technology, it has reduced fertility of the soil. On the occasion, several farmers of the movement said that there is no concrete and constructive policy to uplift agriculture sector as well as people who are directly or indirectly linked with this field. On the occasion, founder of nature-mankind friendly global movement Babu Singh and the district convener of the Kisaan Movement Hurmat Singh said that since 1947, respective governments have failed to protect and develop the agriculture sector. Babu Singh expressed concern over fragmentation of the agriculture land. In his address, he also asserted that Jammu and Kashmir government should regularize all the R-E-Z agriculture technocrats and use their potential for the development of the agriculture sector. Kisaan Movement also demanded cash compensation for flood affected farmers and people. In the programme, Ram Raj, Ashwani Sharma, Daya Ram, Karan Singh, Sanjeev Verma, Sahib Singh, Roop Lal, Ashok Khajuria, Jasbir Singh(Jassi) and Bittu. |
