| Milchar Front seeks Power Minister’s intervention vv | | PDD daily wagers on hunger strike, wages pending for 15 months | |

All J&K Central Non-Gazetted Electrical Employees Union has unanimously resolved to provide full support to the on going hunger strike of daily wagers till their demands are met.
The meeting held here under the chairmanship of S N Saparu Publicity Secretary was among others attended by a large number of electrical employees including the representatives of various district committees, units and sub units.
The meeting discussed various demands pertaining to PDD employees in general and the daily wagers in particular who have not received any wages for the last 15 months despite their 48- hour dharna. These employees were expecting that their wages would be released on the occasion of Diwali and Idd-ul-Fitr but all their hopes were shattered, as the authorities at the helm of affairs did not took cognizance of their genuine and legitimate demands.
Taking strong notice of the callous attitude of the government, the employees have gone on hunger strike from yesterday, the meeting observed and sought personal intervention of the Power Minister in the matter.
In the meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir Milchar Front in a handout has taken strong notice of the problems of the daily wagers and stressed the need for holding a meaningful dialogue with the agitating employees so that some via media is found to overcome the problems of the employees.
