Early Times report
Jammu, Sept 9: Strongly denouncing the political package, dilution in AFSPA demands of State Govt from Centre, BJP Legislature Party Prof Chaman Lal Gupta dubbed 'Special political package' for Kashmir as 'packets' demanded by State to appease valleyites.
Talking to media persons, here today at party headquarter, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said, "State only securing package for the valley that in its actual perspective is financial 'packet' demanded for distribution among the stone pelters and the surrendered militants only". 'State had earlier brought many package and then misused", he alleged, recalling the last year's financial aid of Rs 5500 cr received by the state that had been diluted without any record reflected out of it. He added, "Secessionism in Kashmir has come to be a big business although it was purely law and order problem to enforce the law of the land'
Referring to the prevailing sad situation in the valley, he pointed out that it was for the government to enforce law and order and take action against those who challenge the accession.
Alleging that attempts are being made to malign the security forces, army in particular, Prof. Gupta said that the army is already in barracks and it is the state police assisted by CRPF, which is dealing with the law and order situation created by the stone pelters. He said this all is being done deliberately to build up a strong case for dilution of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) and advance the cause of secessionists.
He mentioned that there were reports that while the male persons resorting to stone pelting were paid Rs. 200 a day, the fair sex is paid Rs. 500 for the same purpose. He said in his constituency and some other areas of Jammu city about Rs. 60 crores were spent only few months back in the name of black topping of the city roads with the assurance that these would last for atleast for four years but have been again dug-up and entire investment made to go waste.
Also on the ration provided to the people on equitable proportions, Chaman Lal held Chief Minister biased for providing 50 kg per family to valley whereas meager 35 per kg was allotted to Jammu..
The BJP legislator leader said that the party would fight tooth and nail in opposing such demand of the state government which would lead to toal disintegration of the state from rest of India.
