Save Himalayas day celebrated

JAMMU, Sept 9: Himalayas are repository of life sustaining elements, house of richest biodiversity and cultural heritage but today under threat due to wrong policies of planners and administration.
These were views of ten students, who spoke on the occasion of "Save Himalayas day" held in the school premises in the morning assembly. Save Himalayas movement has started in the Himalayan states, which have felt pangs of Himalayas. The issues before the movement will be to invite attention of a common man, that if the exploitation of the Himalayan resources goes unchecked, it is disaster in the making. Convener for the movement R.K.Khajuria also spoke on the occasion and exhorted students to be environment sensitive. Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Sunjuwan Usha Shamindra also spoke on this occasion and emphasized that the conscious young minds of today should adopt clean habits to be good citizens of tomorrow.
