JJSF concerned over dilapidated college building | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 9: Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) has expressed serious concern over the condition of building where classes of Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura are being run. Addressing a press conference here today, state vice-president of JJSF Partap Singh Jamwal said that building where classes of GDC Paloura are being run has already been declared as unsafe building by the government. Jamwal said that building, which has been declared unsafe for establishing a new office for central university (CU), is used by government as campus of GDC paloura where hundreds of students are studding. Concerned authorities are openly neglecting student community and are playing with their life. Jamwal demanded immediate shifting GDC Paloura in safe building and demanded holding of GCET examination somewhere else other than this building. Jamwal said that tenure of vice-chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has already expired. He demanded that a local person from Jammu Province to be appointed as VC of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. Others who were present in this protest included Rabiya Manhas, Gulshan Sharma, Meetu, Sumit Gupta, Lovely Gupta and Rawat Manhas. Meanwhile, activist of Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) for Akhnoor Tehsil held a protest demonstration against central and state government against granting autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir. The activists gathered on the main gate of the college and raised slogans against central and state government. Protests were led by Varun Singh, Atul Soodan, Abhay Sharma and Vikas Sharma.
