| AIBCU hails caste inclusion in census | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sep 10: All India Backward Classes Union members have unanimously hailed the cabinet decision of the Centre Govt. for inclusion of caste in the 2010-11 census.
All the members praised all the members of GOM under the chairmanship of the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in which Farooq Abdullah cabinet minister was on of the members.
The members expressed their satisfaction over the decision and hoped that wrong conception of meager population of state OBCs would soon be over.
It is pertinent to mention here that state OBCs are getting only 2 per cent against 27 per cent reservation granted by the Apex Court Judgment as per mandal report.
Member unanimously demanded their due share of 27 per cent which is also due even if the census of 1931 is kept in view which speak of 32 per cent population of OBC in J&K in spite of non-appearance of many OBC castes in 1931 census. |
