| Army donates furniture, sports items | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sep 10: Crossed sword division of army today donated furniture and sports items to various schools of Khour block.
In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that the donations have been made under operation Sadbhavana. The ceremony was presided over by GOC of Cross Swords Division Maj Gen Rakesh Sharma, who took the opportunity to reiterate Indian army's pledge of continued support, guidance and assistance to the students.
He reached out to the students, teachers and the people present and assured them of every assistance from the Army. During the ceremony, GOC presented furniture to Government Middle School, Dehriyan and sports items to Government High School, Hamirpur Sidhar, Government Higher Secondary School, Khour and Government High School, Detyal.
Convener Family Welfare Organization, Cross Swords Division Payal Sharma felicitated the Veer Naris and presented them with gifts. GOC also addressed ex-servicemen and Village Defense Committee (VDC) members during the event. Local population wholeheartedly supported and attended the ceremony and requested for more such provisions of sports/furniture and other items to schools in near future.
