Coalition failure resulting in chaos, resentment: Harsh Dev | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 10: Jammu and Kashmir national Panthers Party MLA Harsh Dev Singh castigated the ruling coalition for its utter failure on all fronts and total collapse of its administrative machinery resulting in public unrest and resentment amongst the masses. He said that law and order situation had worsened and developmental activity had come to a grinding halt. He said that the rural areas were the worst sufferers under the present dispensation with the people suffering for basic amenities and the government exhibiting lack of attention and response to their basic issues. "Corruption had assumed alarming proportions and the frequently parroted slogans of accountability and transparency had fallen flat," said Harsh Dev and rapped the coalition Ministers for abuse of authority and for loot of public exchequer in the absence of an accountability mechanism in the state. He was at Billawar and Machedi areas and addressed a series of way side public meetings and was accompanied by NPP general secretary and MLA Yash Paul Kundal besides party leaders Pavan Dev Singh, Ravinder Biloria, Jagdev Singh and Dewan Chand. Emphasizing the need for development of infrastructure in rural and hitherto deprived areas of Bani and Billawar tehsils, Harsh Dev Singh demanded early construction of Katli-Dehra Gali road, Machedi-Badnota road, Kohag-Padwal road and Katli-Malhar road. He demanded an enquiry into the alleged irregularities committed in the construction of Billawar-Machedi road where the road was reportedly black topped but the macadam was washed away within one month. He expressed grave concern over the dilapidated condition of the said road which was supposed to serve as a feeder road for proposed road network in the area. He demanded a special development fund for upper reaches of district Kathua and district Udhampur comprising Bani, Billawar, Basholi and Dudu Basantgarh for creation and development of basic infrastructure for the people inhabiting such hilly and remote areas. Expressing grave concern over lack of accommodation and staff in various schools of Billawar, Machedi, Bani, and Basholi he urged upon the concerned authorities to take early action to make up the deficiencies and also demanded regularization of education volunteers and early steps to fill up the posts of teachers under ReT policy. Yash Paul Kundal urged upon the people to strengthen the National Panthers Party so that people of Jammu region could be empowered and assured of their due rights. He said that the party would highlight the issues of discrimination against Jammu region in the forthcoming session of Assembly besides exposing the acts of omission and commission of the coalition government. He demanded early relief to the people whose houses and crops had been damaged due to incessant rains and storms during the recent days. Pavan Dev Singh who had organized the rally highlighted the local issues and urged upon the NPP MLAs to highlight the woes of the rural areas of Bani and Billawar in the Assembly. Others who spoke on the occasion included ex-sarpanch Khushi Ram, and Ravinder Singh Billowira. |
