| Protests held in Rajouri, Muslims call for ‘jihad’ against US | | Church’s remarks over Quran | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 10: Muslims of Rajouri today held protest demonstration after Friday prayer raising anti-America slogans while Imam Jamia Masjid Alhuda has appealed Muslims to launch ‘Jihad’ against America.
Led by Muslim youth leader Tazeem Dar, the protest demonstration started from Jamia Masjid Rajouri to Gujjar Mandi where youth leaders addressed the gathering . The protest was held against a tiny Florida church's alleged ‘call’ to burn the Muslims holy book. They demanded to hang church's pastor.
Speaking on the occasion, Tazeem Dar, said that Quran is holy book of Muslims and it teaches peace. He said that those who are raising voice against Quran are enemies of peace in the world and they must be given exemplary punishment. “The holy book is implanted in the hearts and minds of all the Muslims”. He added "Humiliation of the holy book amounts to humiliation of our people……… We only hope that better sense prevails upon those who have aired this unholy sentiment”, he said.
The protest was completely peaceful and Muslims in thousands of numbers stage their protest. They also demanded government of India to show its anger against the act to the International level. Various other youth leaders also addressed the gathering.
Meanwhile Imam Jamia Masjid Alhuda Ameer Mohammad Shamsi while addressing on the occasion of last Friday of Ramazan said that America has crossed all limits which is provoking Muslims to launch “Jihad” against this country. He said that America has directly targeted the holy book of Muslims which will not be tolerated at any cost.
He appreciated Government of India for showing its resentment over the issue. Shamsi said that India realized the sentiments of Crores of Muslims of India. “We thank India for expressing strong resentment to America”, he added.
Muslim Coordination Committee President of Rajouri Abdul Qayoom Dar in a separate press statement has condemned Quran burning call and termed it direct attack on the Islam. He said that India must take the issue seriously with western world so that they stop propaganda against Islam, while appealing Muslim community to maintain communal harmony in the area.
