| Mason killed by train on railway track | | | JAMMU, Sept 10: A mason died after he was knocked down by a train on the railway track at Channi Himmat here in the wee hours of Friday morning.
The incident took place at about 5.30 am at the unmanned Channi Himmat railway crossing which has proved to be killer for the past few years.
Police sources said Manu Mistri, son of Sada Nand, was crossing the railway track when a speeding train hit him, resulting in his instant death.
Originally a resident of Peer Ganj in Araria district of Bihar, he was at present living here at Rajpura, Bakshi Nagar.
Several fatal accidents have taken place at the Channi Himmat railway crossing for the past few years. A couple was killed after their car was stuck on the track few years back. |
