| Thief who steal Rs 2 lakh from ex DIG residence, arrested | | | Jammu: The thief who stroke at the residence of a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Mufti Ganie at Lal Chowk ,Kashmir and decamped with cash worth two lakhs has been arrested by Railway police today.An amount of Rs 1.93 lakh has also been recovered from his possession.
Giving information a police source said that on 30 August the thief Dawa Lamba son of Kamal Lamba residence of Siliguri stroke into the house retired DIG and decamped with the cash.A case in this connection also stood registered with the Sadar police station, Kashmir.Today during naka checking at Jammu Railway Station the amount was received from his possession and on being questioned he broke down and admitted his crime.He further said that the Sadar police has been informed about the arrest.
