Dy CM distributes IAY cheques worth Rs. 14 lakh to Khour people

JAMMU, Sept 12: To review and redress the public grievances at their doorsteps, the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today conducted a series of public meeting at Badan, Manchak, Ghair, Bakore, Indri, Dhounchak and Dandora.
The Deputy Chief Minister distributed 80 cheques worth Rs. 14 lakh under Indira Awaas Youjna (IAY) to Below Poverty Line beneficiaries of Block Khour for construction of houses.
At Badan, Manchak, Indri, Ghair, Bakore, Dhounchak and Dandora the Deputy Chief minister was apprised about various demands and grievances of the people which include construction of compound wall of primary school at Badan, up-gradation of lanes and drains, uninterrupted electricity, installation of poles in uncovered areas besides up-gradation of transformers, up-gradation of schools at Badan, Manchak, construction of link road from Badhan to Dhounchak, installation of one more transformer for Badhan, over head tank at Manchak under water supply scheme Badhan and financial assistance to flood victims under IAY and NCRF.
Responding to their demands and grievances, the Deputy Chief Minister assured the people of various villages that the coalition government was keen to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State at their doorsteps adding that their genuine demands would be consider and redressed in a time bound manner. He said that massive development has been registered in Khour block in the last 20 months as the people have been provided with all basic amenities like safe drinking water, road connectivity and benefitted under various Centre and State government sponsored schemes. He asked the officers to personally visit the construction site of their respective areas and monitor the progress on ground.
He also directed the officers to work on war footing for the completion of various development projects which has been executing in Khour block and adjoining areas.
He asked the officers to use quality material in the construction work adding that laxity would not be tolerated. He also directed to the authorities to ensure timely disbursement of pending MGNREGA payments.
The Deputy Chief Minister has said that in future regular public darbar would be conducted to review the people problems on ground. He also announced a mini tube-well for the Ghair village so that the people of the village get relief from water scarcity in summer season.
Tara reiterated that the Government jobs are not the solution of the unemployment problem. He said the recently announced Sher-i-Kashmir employment and welfare programme would be given due publicity so that more and more youth get acquainted with the policies of the programme.
Among others, Tehsildar Akhnoor Pardeep Kumar, CMO Jammu Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma, Additional SP Jammu Mohan Lal, SDPO Akhnoor Mushtaq Choudhary, Naib Tehsildar Khour Babu Ram, officers from PDD, PHE, PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control, District Horticulture Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Akhnoor, Sarpanchs, prominent citizens and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
