Khoda reviews security scenario of Doda range

doda , Sept 12: The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda today held a high level meeting of police officers at Doda. The meeting discussed security situation in districts of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban. The high level meeting which was also attended by Principal Secretary Home, B. R. Sharma reviewed the overall law and order situation in three districts of Doda range.
Addressing the meeting, the DGP lauded Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces for their role in combating the militancy and ensure rule of law in the State. He stressed upon the officers to improve professional policing, coordinated counter insurgency operations and professional crowd management techniques. He emphatically said that law and order deployment should be meticulously planned with utmost care being taken to have a rugged chain of command and control to closely monitor and supervise the evolving situation.
Principal Secretary Home, while complementing police personnel for their valour said that efforts are being made to make the State police force more professional and effective.
Khoda said that JKP and other security forces have offered sacrifice of their lives while fighting the militancy. Remembering the martyrs, Khoda said that it is due to their supreme sacrifices' that the honour and safety of common man has been restored in the State. He stressed for community policing so that crime detection in these districts is ensured. He said our prime duty is to ensure safety of law abiding citizens and for this purpose good police-public relation is mandatory.
Asking the officers working in the jurisdictions, to give a patient hearing to the grievances of the people, the DGP said that our goal is to serve common man and prevail normalcy in the State. He appreciated the jawans and officers of JKP and other security agencies for conducting successful anti-militancy operations besides avoiding collateral damage. He also encouraged them for maintaining the law and order in their respective jurisdictions.
On the occasion, the DGP rewarded police personnel for their exemplary role in anti-militancy front and saving life and property of common citizens in the area. Seven Constables were given out of turn promotions, fifteen SPOs were absorbed as Constables in the department besides cash rewards to various police components of three districts of the Range.
Khoda said that some anti social elements are trying to instigate people against the law enforcing agencies and provoke them so that they could get a chance to fulfil their nefarious designs. He said that our jawans and officers showed maximum restrain to save life and property of the people. He stressed to maintain close vigil on the activities of these elements and curb them with a heavy hand.
The meeting was attended by IGP, Jammu Zone, A. K. Gupta, DIG, Doda Range, M. K. Sinha, SSP, Doda, Prabhat Singh, SP Kishtwar, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, SP Ramban, Mubassir Latifi and other police officers.
Later, Khoda also held a police durbar at DPL Doda in which jawans and officers of all the three districts participated. Addressing the durbar, the DGP assured the jawans that the department is fully aware about the difficulties of their men.
He said that the department has already taken various measures for the welfare of serving and retired police officers, jawans and their families. He said some other steps are under active consideration of the government and the department is pursuing them vigorously.
