Girdawar, patwari land in SVO net

JAMMU: A girdawar and a patwari of revenue department were today apprehended by state vigilance organisation (SVO) at Reasi while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,500 from a villager.
Identified as girdawar Gyan Chand and patwari Manohar Lal, they were arrested on a complaint lodged against them by Gandharb Singh of Devipur.
As per the complaint, the accused had demanded Rs 2,500 as bribe from Gandharb for issuing him the fard of his land in his village.
SVO sources said acting on the complaint, SVO sleuths laid a trap and held the accused while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 2,500.
A case in this connection had been registered against the accused.
