Gupta lambasts Lal Singh Nfor anti-govt utterances | | | early times report JAMMU , Sept 13: In a statement issued here today National Conference Provincial President, Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta said that the utterances of Ch. Lal Singh, MP Kathua Udhampur Parliament Constituency on various vital issues particularly regarding the present unrest in Kashmir is nothing new but to confuse the people and derail the process of peace and stability. He reminded the MP that he shouldn't forget that it is only due to coalition that he is presently sitting in Lok Sabha, perhaps he has forgotten that he was defeated from Kathua Assembly Constituency with a huge margin by an independent candidate who was not so popular in political circles at that time. Lal Singh is known for false and fabricated statements and at least he should understand that he is a MP of coalition partners and he is also responsible for the present situation. He reminded Ch. Lal Singh that only couple of months ago. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohah Singh during his visit to Valley has appreciated the performance of the State Government headed by Omar Abdullah and he in particular lauded the presentation made by Chief Minister regarding the State before him Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Gupta has further lambasted BJP leadership for making false propaganda against the present coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah particularly on law and order. He said that seeing the achievements viz; launching of Sher-e-Kashmir Welfare Employment Package for unemployed youth construction of 3000 kg roads in the state in remote areas, upgrading medical care facilities in both regions of the state to the level of AIIMS, opening of 52 ITI colleges across the st1ii,te etc. etc. during the past one and a half year BJP leadership is frustrated one arid that is why they are leveling allegations against the Omar led Coalition government BJP having no agenda or issue for the betterment of the people of the state is trying to create hurdles for the progressive and prosper programmes of the state and central sponsored schemes. They are not respecting the massive mandate given by the people of the state to the Coalition Government headed by the young and dynamic leader Omar Abdullah. Gupta appealed to the leaders of opposition to play. a positive role for the benefit of the people of this poor state who have already suffered very badly for the last two decades. He said that NC stands for unity of the State and balanced development of all the regions and people. He said that National Conference Party aims at strengthening unity of the people living in different parts of the state and amelioration of lot of downtrodden masses irrespective of their colour, religions, and language. He said that the party equally works for restoration of dignity and glory of the State as enshrined in the constitution of the State and safeguarded under the Article 370 of the Union Constitution. Gupta said that some vested elements are bent upon mis interpretation of the issue and hoodwink people, just to serve their nefarious designs. Such elements have failed, to pronounciate their differences on the issue rightly, while as people understand merits of NC struggle for restoration of constitutionally wanted rights to the State. He further said that National Conference proved its secular credentials at various occasions and need no certificate to this effect from the communal and destructive forces. He said that our party leadership has offered great sacrifices for the unity of State and upholding the democratic norms. He expressed anguish against the forces that are bent upon division of the people in the name of region and religion. |
