2nd phase of photo exhibition 'Sakshaatkaar' concludes | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 13: The second phase of photo exhibition 'Sakshaatkaar' an encounter with truth concluded at Purkhoo Camp here today. The exhibition was inaugurated jointly by Prof. ML Koul, member PK advisory, Prof B.L Fotedar, Convener Prakash, a socio-cultural initiative of Panum Kashmir and ON Trisal, on 12 September a large number of people thronged the exhibition for the last two days. It was an altogether different experience for the visitors. The visitors who were mostly the camp inmates themselves experienced what is reflected in the exhibition. Unlike most of the exhibitions, 'Sakshaatkaar' had different connotations. It reflected the pain and agony of the visitors as they were subjected to genocide that led to their exodus and subsequent plunder of their property and desecration of their temples and shrines. But at the same time it reflected resilience of the community and creation of symbols of hope in exile. Senior President of the camp BL Thussu described the exhibition a very good effort to depict the real picture of the community and suggested the involvement of the youth to carry forward the message. Dr.Vijay Pandita said "It is deeply touched my heat and made me stronger to fight against the atrocities committed against us" Kuldep Raina summed up the 'Sakshaatkaar' as the exhibition by the victims, of the victims, and for the victims. He appeals all the community members and other nationalist forces to attend the rally on the Martyrs' day- 14 September at Press Club, Jammu at 10 am to pay tributes to the martyrs and register their protest against the failure of the government to give justice to the community and fight terrorism and secessionism. |
