Police Cricket Cup for Physically Challenged Jammu Dare Devils win opening tie | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 13: Beating Jammu Warriors by six wickets, Jammu Dare Devils won the inaugural match of the J&K Police Cricket Cup for Physically Challenged at MA Stadium, here today. Earlier, batting first, Jammu Warriors bowled out for 88 runs in 15.4 overs of the 20 overs match. The total was overhauled by Dare Devils in 14.3 overs for the loss of four wickets. Munish and Karan were main scorers with 14 runs each while Anil contributed seven. From Dare Devils, Rajinder was most successful bowler with four wickets, followed by Raj Kumar and Garu, who shared two each. In reply, Dare Devils chased the target making 89 runs in 14.3 overs for the loss of six wickets. Anil remained top scorer with 26 runs off 20 balls including four hits to the fence. Rajinder and Rakesh contributed 16 and 12 runs respectively. Arvinder was only successful bowler from Jammu Warriors with three for 13 in four overs. For his match winning innings of 26 runs, Anil was adjudged man of the match. However, Jammu Warriors won their next match outplaying Jammu Kings by nine wickets. Batting first, Jammu Kings bowled out for 49 runs in 11.1 overs. Shubam and Vicky were main scorers with 12 and eight runs in their respective accounts. Rakesh, Naz and Kuldeep took two wickets each. In reply, Jammu Warriors chased the total making 50 runs in just five overs for the loss of one wicket. Abhishek scored unbeaten 19 runs, followed by 11 by Manish. Vicky bagged the only wicket lost by Jammu Warriors. Abhishek was later declared man of the match Earlier, the tournament was declared open by the Director General of J&K Police, Kuldeep Khoda in a well attended function. He was accompanied by Inspector General of Police Jammu, Ashok Gupta and host of other senior police officers. |
