No permission will be granted to take out processions in Kashmir: DGP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sep 13: Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda on Monday said "we will not grant any permission to take out a procession in future without determining whether it poses a risk to the law and order situation or not". Interacting with the media persons after inaugurating the cricket tournament in MAM stadium here in Jammu the DGP police said,"in future the permission will be granted to those who wish to take out processions only after assessing in great detail whether the procession poses a risk to the public life and property. Khoda was commenting on the grant of permission to separatist leader after Eid prayers in Kashmir valley which triggered fresh cycle of violence. Meanwhile, the senior police officer also appealed to the people in Kashmir valley not to pay heed to the rumors and help the state police and other agencies to restore calm. He also expressed hope that the police would be able to restore law and order soon on the ground zero to allow common people in Kashmir lead their routine life. |
