| Florida priest's act highly condemnable: MLA Doda | | | early times report
Jammu, Sept 13: Abdul Majid Wani, the senior congress party leader and MLA from Doda has condemned the attempt made by Florida's priest Terry Jones to disturb international peace and harmony by making announcement to burn the Holy Quran on the anniversary of 9/11. It a serious and grave issue and reflects the corrupt mindsets of racist forces. The US Government must look into this criminal, inhuman and shameful act by the pastor which would have otherwise destroyed interfaith peace allover the world. Wani said "By thinking about burning the Koran, nobody can harm it. The Koran is in the hearts and minds of one-and-a-half billion people. Insulting the Koran is an insult to humanity." All religions & faiths are equal in the eyes of all mighty God and teach the humanity lesson of peace, tolerance, love & brotherhood. The shocking and shameful announcement, made by the Florida priest, has hurt sentiments of Muslims across the world which could have been detrimental to efforts being made for maintaining world peace. Wani also called upon Government of India to take serious note of the US pastor's act and lodge a strong protest with the US ambassador in India. He said that the Indian Parliament should adopt an immediate resolution against the plan and the world should adopt a common strategy to counter such heinous and shameful acts against any religion or faith in future.
Wani has also extended thanks to the world community for oppose this barbaric behavior by the insane pastor. Nothing good would have come out of this farce except more anger and hostility from the Muslim population. People including Muslims all over world have responded to this shameful act and opposed it in a peaceful way. I believe that is the only way to combat this type of hate is through patience and love. |
