Div Com reviews pace of progress on JNNRUM projects | Calls for early restoration of dug up lanes, bi-lanes | | early times report JAMMU, Sept 13: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal has called for expediting restoration of the roads and bi-lanes in Jammu city areas dug up for laying of sewerage lines. Dr. Kotwal who is also Chairman of the Coordination Committee for the implementation of various Jawaharlal Nehru National Renewal Urban Mission (JNNRUM) schemes, at the meeting convened here today to reviewed the pace of progress on the laying of sewerage lines in Jammu city. MLA Jammu West, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, MLA Jammu East, Mr. Ashok Khajuria, DIG Traffic, Dr. Kamal Saini, Commissioner JMC Mr. S.C. Sawhney, Vice Chairman JDA Mr. Vinod Sharma, Chief Engineer PHE Mr. Dalip Bakshi, Chief Engineer R&B, Mr. D. L. Sharma, Joint Director Information, Mr. Soujanya Sharma, ADC Jammu, Ms R. Batul, Senior General Manager NBCC, Mr. Hem Raj, Team Leader DSC-Jammu ERA Dr. A. K. Aditya and senior officers from PDD, PWD, BSNL, ERA and UEED were present in the meeting. Threadbare discussions were held with regard to the problems being faced by the executing agencies in the completion of the work. The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned agencies to speed up the pace to avoid delay in the completion of the works. He said that the work has already suffered due to incessant rains and further delay could lead to public discrepancy. He asked the officers to work with close coordination and visit the localities where digging has been completed and sort out the problems which are hampering the work. He called for gearing up men and machinery for early completion of work to avoid inconvenience to the people. He directed the executing agencies to lift the malba from the site of works so that the people can not feel inconvenience. Both the MLAs suggested for expediting the restoration works with close coordination between NBCC, ERA, R&B, JMC and other involved agencies in the implementation of the urban development project. |
