Fortnight long ‘Hindi Diwas’ celebrations begin | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 14: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade today began fortnight long celebration of ‘Hindi Divas’ in the college premises. Inaugural ceremony began with traditional lighting of the lamp followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana’ by the students of music department. Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Bakshi threw light on the importance and relevance of Hindi in the present scenario. Earlier, Prof. Sanjana Koul formally welcomed guests. On the occasion, a ‘Kavita Paath’ was organized in which out of ten participants, Anu Sharma, Sapna Devi and Vandana Wazir were adjudged as first, second and third respectively. Prof. Jugal Puri, H.O.D, Hindi while presenting the vote of thanks also stressed on the significance of learning Hindi language to achieve success and regain self- esteem and self-respect.
