| Army renovates school under Op Sadbhavana | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur, Sep 15: Sky Rippers unit, under North Star AD Brigade renovated a Girls Middle School under OP SADBHAVANA project at village Johan approximately 20 kms from Udhampur today. The project was inaugurated by Lt Gen Jasbir Singh, a high ranking officer in the HQ Northern Command.
The welfare project costing Rs Fifty three lakhs included the renovation of the girls middle school creating a marked difference in its infrastructure and facilities. This ambitious project has made a qualitative difference in the lives of the village children and has led to effective guidance for their all round development. The government school which located at Johan village earlier was facing problems of non availability of classrooms, toilets, etc. Under this project, new classrooms, toilets, assembly ground and a basket ball court have been constructed. In addition books for the library and computers for the computer lab have also been provided. These facilities have turned the school into a Model school attracting and motivating children from nearby villages to join the school and pursue their education. The inauguration function was attended by over 600 villagers and children who expressed deep gratitude and satisfaction on this modern infrastructure provided to the village under OP SADBHAVANA. Lt Gen Jasbir Singh while dedicating the project to the village underlined the importance of the civil- military relations and stressed that the village must maintain this project to derive complete benefits out of it for a long time to come. |
