| Rajouri beat Akhnoor College 3-1 to enter QFs | | Inter-college football tournament of JU | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sep 15: Government Degree College Rajouri today reached the quarterfinals outplaying Degree College Akhnoor 3-1 in the ongoing inter-college men's football tournament, organised by Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at GGM Science College grounds, here.
Now, Degree College Rajouri shall meet GGM Science College in the quarters scheduled for tomorrow. Earlier, Parveen Kumar helped Akhnoor take the early lead scoring in 15th minutes. However, the lead was soon equalized by Rajouri College with Vishav Partap Singh netting the ball in the 25th minute. It was followed by two more goals scored by visiting Rajouri College. While Tariq struck in 35th minute, Varinder Singh scored in the 55th minute of the match thereby making it a big 3-1 win.
Meanwhile, in another scheduled match of the day, Mahant Bachiter Singh (MBS) College got walkover PG Law and Sciences of JU. In the quarterfinal, to be played tomorrow, MBS shall be playing against PG Arts.
Last year's runners-up, GGM Science College also got walkover when Government Degree College R S Pura failed to report the venue despite confirming their participation.
