Gujjars, Bakerwals facing hostile conditions

Jammu, Sept 15: Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Maha Sabha has expressed that Gujjar community including migratory Gujjars & Bakerwals belonging to schedule tribe community having significant population in J&K state itself has been bearing brunt of hostile circumstances created during 1947 , 1965,1971 ,Indo-Pak War.
Addressing the press conference, Eshfaq-Ur-Rehman Poswal ,president said the prevailing political scenario in J&K state has intimate direct unfavourable bearing on this poor community. They have their own distinctive language and culture. But they are forced to feel ignored and deprived of rights and justice in the present turmoil when the valley is burning due to ill conceived political vested intrest of unislamic behaviour of separatists.
Gujjar community feels to play an important role in finding out a lasting and tangible solutions for this. Poswal urged upon center & state governments to take into confidence the Gujjar community while discussing Kashmir issue in any fora so that intrest of gujjar community are not jeopardized and national intrest are protected .
Poswal brought to the notice of concern authorities of Govt of India that while finalizing employment package for Kashmiri youths it should pay special attention to the needs of unemployed gujjar youths who are living much below the poverty line belonging to ST status and leading miserably poor wretched life.
He said that since Gujjar community is well known from historic perspectives as a undisputed nationalist , therefore it shall be imperative from national intrest to provide personal security cover to leaders of Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha because their leaders are under constant stress ,strain and risk to their physical , social and economic aspects and are getting constant threats from the hostile forces who are eye sore for the separatists , militants and other anti national forces directly or indirectly operating in the J&K state.
He said that Prime Minister while on his visit to Srinagar was kind enough to meet the delegation of Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Maha Sabha led by Poswal and appreciated the role of Maha Sabha and assured of solving various problems put forth in the memorandum presented to the PM. This will enable the Gujjar community under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Maha Sabha to work more vigorously for peace , happiness and development .
Poswal further informed that Gujjar Mahasabha is organising a round table conference of prominent leaders, representatives of different communities and faiths from different part of J&K state so that common minimum programe can be chalked out for bringing about peace happiness and political stability which are essential for development in J&K state.
