| BJP concern over echoing of anti-national slogans by protestors | | Eruption of violence in Poonch | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 15: Registering their serious concern over the eruption of violence and raising of anti-national slogans by certain elements while protesting against the alleged desecration of the holy book in USA by some persons, the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said that peaceful protest over any such act could be understood but the manner in which anti-national slogans coupled with violence, is quite intriguing.
This mysterious violence has resulted in loss of several human lives and destruction of large scale of Government and private property. It is a matter, which needed to be probed into and mischief-mongers must be identified and dealt under law of the land,the BJP leader said.
In a statement, Prof. Gupta said that the alleged incident in a far off country like USA resulting in violence in the troubled Valley as also some other sensitive areas including one close to the Line of Control, speaks volumes itself. Apparently all this was part of a bigger design, which needs deep look in the interest of peace as also the security of the State.
He appealed all the peace loving people to play their role to frustrate the evil design at work. However, he expressed his grief over the loss of human life and stressed for maintaining communal harmony.
About the demand for amending or withdrawal of the Armed Special Powers Act, the BJP leader observed that it was strange that instead of rectifying the wrongs that led to the turmoil in the Valley, escape routes are being found to cover up the failures but blunting of the weapons and instruments with which cross border terror is being tackled, would lead to more problems rather than any good. This would only help those who are operating at the behest of forces hostile to India.
Prof. Gupta regretted that power crazy Congress did not learn any lesson from the past and pointed out that their marriage of convenience with the National Conference had led to several turmoil in the past but still the leadership of this party opted for reunion with the National Conference and the fears BJP have again come true. Because of this not only the people of this State but the entire country is facing the heat. Only the firm approach and clear-cut policies can be the answer to the prevailing worrisome situation, he maintained. |
