| Cong leaders appeal people to maintain peace | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept, 15: Congress party leaders, Ministers and party functionaries held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of Prof. Saifuddin Soz MP and President of J&K PCC to take stock of the prevalent situation across the state. The participants exchanged ideas on the situation obtaining in the State and several suggestions were made to reach out to the people and solve their difficulties. The meeting also took notice of the news channel having provoked public sentiments on the alleges desecrations of holy Quoran and condemned any attempt by any quarter to show disrespect to the holy book. The Congress leaders however appealed to the people to remain calm, maintain peace and communal harmony. The meeting further welcomed the Prime Minister's clear offer of dialogue to all shades of public opinion in J&K State and urged all parties and groups in State to respond positively to the call of Prime Minister for a dialogue to find solution to all the problem. Those who attended the meeting included Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad.
