early times report
Jammu, Sept 15: People's Democratic Front president and former minister of J&K Hakim Mohammad Yasin has ridiculed the decision of sending All Party delegation to Kashmir as a means to offer solution to the current crisis in valley. Terming the All party meeting as totally disappointing, PDF president said beleaguered people of Kashmir had high expectations from the outcome but these have been washed away completely.
In a statement, PDF president has said that failure of political leaders to arrive at consensus on most vital issue has disappointed the people of Kashmir badly. "People are also disappointed to see the role of political parties from state……..despite their participation they have not been able to put forth what Kashmiris want…….these parties have only stated what they have been saying in the past at their rallies, public functions", Hakim Yasin observed in his reaction.
Terming the proposed visit of All party delegates to valley a meaningless exercise PDF leader said it was beyond comprehension to expect the delegation offer some solution upon their visit to valley. "What could not achieved at the highest forum at New Delhi is now expected to come from the visit of all party delegates to valley……..", he observed adding that instead of this kind of exercise Centre needs to take steps in direction of dialogue without pre conditions with all hues of leaders , release of all political prisoners besides withdrawal of forces. He also said GOI needs to initiate dialogue with Pakisatn, which he said was a key party apart from people of state to settle this issue.
Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik has also said the all-party meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi had disappointed people of the state.
"Sixty-three years have elapsed but the (Kashmir) issue is yet to be resolved. The outcome of the all-party meeting has disappointed people of the state," he told an agency in Srinagar.
On BJP's opposition to revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Malik said it was most unfortunate that the party which held dialogue with separatists was now talking about using force against "unarmed protesters" in Kashmir.
"(Former Prime Minister) Atal Bihari Vajpayee took a bold step when he talked about resolving the Kashmir problem within perimeters of 'insaniyat' (humanity).
"But, his party is now singing a different tune," he said.
