| Vitasta b'day celebrations on Sept 21 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 16: Kashmira Vahini in a meeting today took stock of the preparations birthday celebrations of River Vitasta on "Vitasta Trayodeshi" or "Vyath Truvaah" to be held at Rajender Park on September 21. The meeting was chaired by Sunita Santoshi, its General Secretary. Sunita Santoshi impressed upon the Kashmiri Pandit community that celebrating the various important cultural and religious festivals will rejuvenate the community. In this connection, celebrating the birthday of Goddess River Vitasta becomes all the more important and relevant for KPs in exile. She said that the exile of Kashmiri Pandit community from the Kashmir Valley is an outcome of religious and cultural genocide unleashed by the Islamic terrorists in the Valley with active connivance of the state machinery and the only solution to it is carving out of a separate Homeland for KPs in Kashmir Valley with Union Territory status.
Santoshi reiterated that Kashmira Vahini will strive hard to bring in religious and cultural renaissance in Kashmiri Hindu Community by laying emphasis on celebrating the various cultural and religious festivals in a traditional way.
The celebrating of Vitasta Trayodashi, the birthday of River Goddess Vitasta will be the beginning of the efforts in this direction. |
