Violence in valley affecting student community: ABVP | | | early times report JAMMU, SEP 16: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) has expressed concern over deteriorating situation in Kashmir valley and its impact on student community. Addressing media persons, Ajay Sharma, Jammu city president said that since the students who were studying at National Institute of Technology (NIT) and Central University, Kashmir are suffering from the last 3 months, the classes of new semesters of B.Tech students couldn't be started. 'The B.Tech students were on hunger strike from last 48 hours but no one from the concerning authority reached to them', he mentioned, adding, 'Contrary to it, they have been threatened of dire consequences'. ABVP demands to shift the classes in Jammu province so that students will not suffer. Commenting over demand of revocation of AFSPA, Sharma said, "Revocation or dilution of AFSPA will boost separatists and demoralize the security forces in Kashmir". He warned to launch nation-wide agitation if any dilution will be made in AFSPA. Raman Sharma, JU secretary ABVP, urged the Public Service Commission to declare the result of KAS mains exam forthwith as four months have passed since completion of exams. He however appealed to the chairman PSC not to postpone the dates of interviews of various posts and conduct interviews in Jammu. ABVP also announced to launch protest campaign against commercialization of education at national level and hike in fee of admission, revaluation, hostels etc. Besides ABVP leaders also announced to launch Membership Drive in Jammu and Kashmir on various agendas including commercialization of education. Later ABVP also staged protest demonstration in GGM Science College against commercialization of education and hike in fee. Naseeb Ali, Rakesh Sharma incharge membership drive, ABVP Jammu city were also present in the press conference.
