| 1 killed, 1 hurt as tractor falls into gorge | | | early times report
KATRA, Sept 16: A GREF labourer was killed and another wounded critically when the tractor carrying them skidded off the road near Nine Devi temple here last night and fell into a deep gorge.
The incident occured at about 10 pm Wednesday when the unnumbered tractor, which was on its way from Karua to Katra, fell into a gorge near the Nine Devi temple, police sources said. Sources said a GREF labourer was killed on the spot while another survived with critical injuries.
The dead was identified as Sanoj Kumar (18) of Bihar and the injured as Ajay Kumar, who was admitted to the GMC hospital. The tractor driver Ram Dass, son of Ratan Lal of Kathua, survived unhurt and fled the spot. A hunt was launched to nab him, the sources added, saying police had registered a case against him. |
