| Semis position cleared in inter-college football | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 17: Semi-finals line-up has been drawn in the ongoing annual inter-college men’s football tournament, organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu on the GGM Science College grounds, here today.
The last team reaching the semi-finals today was Government MAM College while other side of Government Degree College Udhampur had already reached the last four stages getting walkovers.
As many as four teams in a group of six could not turn for participation resulting into Udhampur College found berth in the semis winning only game against Degree College Kathua in the first round.
Now, in the semi-finals, to be played tomorrow, MAM College shall face Degree College Udhampur while GGM Science College shall be playing against PG Arts tomorrow at the same venue.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, played today, MAM College outplayed Trikuta Degree College beating latter 3-0. Leading by two goals in the first half, MAM added two more goals after the breather making it a convincing three goal win.
Gautam Mehra struck twice netting the ball in the 20th and 50th minute of the match. Third goal of the match was scored by Ragnesh Pangotra in the 59th minute.
Today’s quarterfinal was officiated by Tanpreet Singh, Rohit Gupta and Dr Brij Baloria.
