Army holds series of medical camps | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 17: A series of medical camps were conducted by the Army in Mahore, Gul and Gulabgarh tehsil from September 6 to September 17. Medical camps were organised under the aegis of Rashtriya Rifles and drew an overwhelming response from the locals for whom because of the remoteness of the region, a medical camp at their door step is always a great help. Army had ensured availability of lady medical officer. The endeavor was specially directed at addressing the problems of the rural women, who may find it difficult or uneasy to convey their problems to a male doctor. Medical team travelled to several remote and inaccessible villages in the Pir Panjal ranges on foot, to render medical aid to old and infirm people, children and pregnant women for whom it would be otherwise difficult to move to medical centers, due to the rugged terrain and their age and medical condition. . Besides the remote areas, the camps were also held at Daram, Bhimdasa, Gulabgarh, Angrala, Dagan, Deolmarg and Brahmadhar. People suffering from various ailments ranging from skin diseases, malnutrition, anaemia, chronic bronchitis, puerperial sepsis, hypothyroidism and umbilical hernia were treated and medicines were distributed free of cost These medical camps were organised as part of Operation Sadbhavana being undertaken by the Army as part of its people friendly initiatives. The three tehsils have seen the dawn of, an era of peace and development – possible only because of the people friendly efforts and work being undertaken by the Armed Forces in addressing the grassroot problems of the common man, and the people of the region who have been instrumental in developing and taking this relationship of mutual trust forward.
