Cong leaders undertake tour of Chenani constituency

JAMMU, Sept 17: Former Minister and Vice-President of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Yash Paul Khajuria along with MLA Chenani Krishan Chander Bhagat undertook two day tour of the constituency and interacted with people about the problems being faced by them.
Series of meetings were held at village Bashat, Gouri Kund, Sudhmahadev, MAntalie, Bup, Srar, Marothi, Sira, Latti Dhuna, Sarota, Jakhed, Didi Baiger and Dudu wherein people apprised their leaders of the being faced by them which includes acute water shortage and electrification in many morahas of villages Sarota, Jakhed, Latti, Maroothi and Dudu.
People demanded upgradation of schools, drinking water and electrification in the villages Pundal, Didi Baiger and many morahas in villages Kusar and Jakhed. People of Bashat sought construction of tractor road from Baltan, Rangi to Panchayat Ghar. People of Sudhmahadev demanded construction of a urinal complex at Bus stand where passengers and tourists at present are facing much difficulties due to non-availability of urinal complex at such an historical and religious spot.
While speaking during the meeting, Yash Paul Khajuria said that the compensation for the loss to property and crops should be provided to the aggrieved in village Chirdi, Kither, Mada. He further said that in entire Chenani and Dudu blocks, farmers have suffered loss due to erosion of their agricultural land and damages of houses and damages of crops and vegetables by the unprecedented rains which need immediate attention and compensation for the losses.
MLA Chenani Krishan Chander Bhagat said that the work under NREGA may be started at the earliest to provide work in Dudu and Chenani blocks. He urged the government to provide special package for restoration of defunct water schemes and electrification of many morahas of tehsil Chenani which have been totally neglected so for. He further demanded blacktopping of road from Latti to Dudu at the earliest and also to provide ration in the far-flung area well in time.
Other prominent leaders who accompanied the two leaders included Ashok Bakshi, Gunjar Singh, Mohan Lal Gupta, Gopal Sharma, Vishwa Nath, Rashid Ahmed, Farooq Katoch, Om Parkash, Faquir Singh, Daleem Kumar, Farooq Ahmed, Amir Chand, Puran Chand, Jagdish Kumar, Mohammed Sharif, Sarpanch Krishan Lal and other.
