Rahul’s comment on Omar doing tough job invites BJP’s scorn | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 17: Young Omar Abdullah was the choice of Congress, moreso, of Rahul Gandhi to see him as the Chief Minister of this sensitive state, observed BJP legislators’ party leader Chaman Lal Gupta while commenting upon the statement of Rahul Gandhi on the plea that Omar should be given some more time as he is doing a "tough job". He said that this oxygen like support from Rahul for his young friend Omar, has given credence to the earlier reports that Omar was the selection in fact of young turks in the Congress owing allegiance to Rahul, the Yuvraj of this party, Prof. Gupta added and said this choice was full of meaning to impress upon the audience that if young Omar can perform, why not Rahul. But how the leadership of Omar has performed, has now become the question for not the Congress alone but also for the entire people of Jammu and Kashmir as a difficult situation has been created for the entire country, which was evident from the need for holding of an all parties meet on the issue by no less a person than the Prime Minister himself. The BJP leader said that it was for the dynastic Congress to have their leaders as it being their party affairs but the formation of the leader of the Government do becomes the matter of governance which affects the entire people and have bearing on the unity and integrity of the country. “So is the case in Kashmir which is faced with turmoil for past over four months now but for whose follies and wrongs,” queried Chaman Lal adding many people have been killed, large number of others including jawans and officers of the forces have been injured, in addition to destruction of Government and private property as also the whole life being badly affected. It is intriguing that what has gone wrong that these very people too, are angry and a Commission of Enquiry should be appointed to have a deep look to find that who stands guilty for this grave situation. And the guilty should face the consequences too, he asserted.
