CM happy over Rajouri’s peaceful protests
Arriving today to thank people, Hindu Muslims joint protest in city

Rajouri, Sept 17
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is likely to visit Rajouri today to thank people for organizing peaceful protests and maintaining peace in the area. He is also likely to review Mendher and Poonch situation.
Sources said that Chief Minister Omar Abdulla will arrive Rajouri on Saturday and is reportedly coming here specially to thank people for organizing peaceful protest demonstrations where residents have shown tolerance and have maintained communal brotherhood by pressing their demand on joint front of Hindu, Muslim and Sikhs.
Sources said that Chief Minister is also extending special thanks to Muslim Coordination Committee President Abdul Qayoom Dar who was leading protest demonstrations in Rajouri. “Dar’s efforts were highly appreciated by all including government for maintaining peace and avoiding violence during their protests”, sources said.
Chief Minister will also visit Mendher and Poonch and will review the situation of the area.
Meanwhile Muslims of Rajouri under the leadership of MCC president Abdul Qayoom Dar and supported by Hindu community organized protest demonstration after Friday prayer in Rajouri town to condemn police firing on the Mendher protestors.
In a statement issued here, Abdul Qayoom Dar said that all the Imams of the districts took out protest rally from their mosque and reached Gujjar Mandi Chowk where the demonstration culminated peacefully.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Qayoom Dar condemned Mendher killings and appealed people to remain non-violent while expressing their anger on the streets. He said that holding demonstration is their basic right but it should not be violent because violence always causes loss of the people. “We donot want that more people should lost lives in this region because we have already lost our lives during 3 wars in the area”, he said while thanking all communities for participating in the protest demonstration.
Meanwhile Kamal Singh, President of Doodhadhari Ashram and Bittu Shah a social leader of Rajouri town have also condemned police action on the peaceful protestors in Mendher. They also extended their support to the MCC call of demonstration and also took part in the rally.
Addressing gathering Bittu Shah and Kamal Singh said that innocent killings must be condemned and police should not create Kashmir live situation in this area. They added that all those involved in innocent killings must be booked under law.
