Jindhehar, Red Rose Club win ties in T-20

JAMMU, Sept 18: Jindhehar Cricket Club (JCC) and Red Rose Cricket Club won their respective matches to move into the next round of ongoing Friendship Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament, organised by J&K State Sports Council at Bana Singh Stadium in R S Pura today.
In the first match of the day, Jindhehar Club defeated Purana Pind Club (PPC) by eight wickets. Earlier, JCC won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, PPC bowled out for 98 runs in 19.2 overs. Jangi Choudhary was top scorer with 22 runs, followed by Sunil Kumar and Sahil Sandhu, who contributed 15 and 13 runs respectively. From JCC, Manju clinched three wickets and Harpal bagged two.
In reply, JCC reached the required total in just 11.5 overs for the loss of two wickets. Satish played match winning innings of unbeaten 44 (off 26 balls, 6x2, 4x5) runs while Pardeep contributed 18 runs and remained not out. Sunil Kumar and Vipan shared one wicket each from PPCC.
In another match, Red Rose Cricket Club (RRCC) registered a big 157 runs win over Rattian Cricket Club (RCC). Batting first, RRCC set a big target of 184 runs for the loss of four wickets in allotted 20 overs, which, in reply, RCC could not chase and bowled out for just 27 runs in 10.5 overs.
Yogesh and Rohit played fine innings of 42 and 40 runs respectively from RRCC while Vinod (33) and Sunil (29) were other main scorers. From RCC, Joginder and Rajesh took two and one wicket respectively.
Batting second, no batsman from RCC could touch the double figure mark and lost all their wickets for 27 runs. Aminder and Deepak bagged three wickets each from RRCC, followed by Vinod and Ravinder, who shared two each from RRCC.
Today’s matches were officiated by Jagtar Singh, Suresh Singh, Pankaj Sasun and Madan Mohan. This tournament, wherein 51 teams from R S Pura area are taking part, is being held under the guidance of cricket coaches, Varinder Sharma and Naveen Sharma.
