Training workshop of BWWA concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Sept 18: One month long Fruit-Vegetable Preservation Workshop Training Programme organised by BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA), culminated today under the leadership of Deputy Commandant, Assistant Training Centre, Asif Ali. A press note said that this training workshop was organized with the assistance of Horticulture department of Jammu and Kashmir in which about 30 women participated. During this training the women were imparted training for packing of fruits, vegetables and other eatables things. All participants’ were rewarded with certificates on behalf of Horticulture department at the valedictory function. In his brief address, Asif Ali, congratulated all trainees and appreciated for exhibiting the articles in the show. He also expressed his gratitude of Horticulture department for rendering assistance in this training workshop. Meanwhile, a painting competition and cultural programme was also organized on the occasion. It may be recalled that BWWA was started by Indu Malini, wife of former DIG of BSF, Anandachari in 1992. At present BWWA, under chairmanship of Anjali Srivastava has been organized with an objective of welfare and rehabilitation of widows of BSF personnel which included re-marriage of widows and self reliant by imparting various vocational training camps.
