Kashmiri Samaj deplore political concessions to Kashmir valley | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 18: All India Kashmiri Samaj today said that any political concessions to Kashmir valley at this stage would tantamount to victory of fundamentalist, separatists and anti-national forces leading to emboldening such forces to create further mayhem in future. This was stated by delegation of Samaj leaders during an interaction with Union Defence Minister A. K. Antony. The delegation comprised of M. L. Malla, Dr. Romesh Raina, Sanjay Wali, Bansi Razdan, Jatinder Kaw and Sheen Handoo. Dr. Romesh Raina said that there should be no re-evaluation of political and constitutional relationship between Kashmir and India, and in that context religion cannot be the basis for conceding any ground to such forces. Vice President M. L. Malla said that union government should be very careful while dealing with the volatile situation in Kashmir. Moti Kaul, President, AIKS who is in London in connection with an important Conference on Kashmir being organized by IEKF, an affiliate of AIKS, also conveyed that the need of the hour was to do justice with those who were hounded out of Kashmir in 1990. They said that security situation leaves much to be desired, it is not merely security against the gun but against a militant culture, against ideological, psychological pressures and against political hegemony built over the years on Kashmiri Pandits, against intolerance, against socio-cultural onslaught religious intolerance etc. Our worst enemy is the ideological terrorism unleashed against us. Any dilution in the provisions of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) will severely restrict the functioning of the Armed Forces. A. K. Antony gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that their concerns will be looked into
