BJP welcomes APCD’s halt at Jammu, suggests taking Ladkah into consideration
9/19/2010 12:59:17 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 18: Welcoming the decision of the All Parties Central Delegation to halt at Jammu also along with their visit to Kashmir Valley, the leader of the BJP legislators party, Chaman Lal Gupta suggested that they should also visit to Ladakh, as this would help them to understand the problems of other sections of the people too.
He said that Kashmir Valley is not the entire State.
It is less than ten percent of the total geographical area, and even in the Valley only a section of the people are operating under communal consideration and extremism percolating from across the border/line of control.
But these separatists and anti-national elements are dominating who have made the nationalists and silent population of the Valley as their hostages but for the failure and follies of the Coalition leaders of the National Conference/Congress to enforce law and order.
Gupta also cautioned the members of the visiting delegation not to draw any hasty or panicky conclusions. He impressed upon them to first go deep into the causes of repeated troubles and turmoil in the Valley as also study the geography of the state and the psyche of Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting of the party activists, the BJP leader regretted that certain politicians and so-called intellectuals, who had little knowledge even about the composition and problems, have come to be Kashmir experts and talking about limited accession, autonomy and what not.
Even today in Kashmir there is the problem of proxy war launched through cross border terror which has assumed serious proportions because of mis-goverance and lack of clarity of the responsibilities both in the State as also the Centre, he said.
The other major problem in this State had been pampering of communal outlook even at the cost of Jammu and Ladakh regions. They were always extended raw deal and virtually these regions have been enslaved by not giving them due representation in the Lok Sabha as also in the State Assembly despite their having far bigger the area and more voters than those of the Valley. This discrimination has also led to regional tensions, he added and held both the Congress and National Conference guilty for the sad plight of Jammuites and those of Ladakhis.
Gupta also referred to the problems of displaced persons from Pak-held areas and those from the Valley of Kashmir, in addition to the plight of refugees from neighbouring Pakistan but for the National Conference and Congress having communally diseased mind.
At the meeting the local problems facing the people of the area also came under discussion. Those who attended the meeting also included Shri Chander Mohan Gupta, Shri Bawa Sharma, Shri Munish Sharma, Shri Vijay Dogra, Dr. Magorta and many others.
