Cong concerned over inapt attitude of health deptt in Doda | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 19: Congress has expressed serious concern over indifferent and inapt approach adopted by the district health authorities in Doda constituency. This was stated by senior congress party leader and MLA from Doda constituency Abdul Majid Wani. He said that even after recent experience of epidemic in Doda constituency, district health system has failed to improve its functioning. Wani added that poor health care delivery system along with irresponsible attitude of employees of PHE department and municipal committee Doda was responsible for outbreak of Diarrhea and Cholera in Doda. A central health team, comprising of three senior experts from New Delhi comprising of Joint Director NICD, Joint Director NCDC and one clinical expert from Safdarjung Hospital visited Doda from August 30, 2010 to September 1, 2010. MLA Doda said that apart from a total administrative chaos in district Hospital Doda, acute shortage of medical staff is a matter of serious concern. Wani appealed Health Minister of Jammu and Kashmir for ordering a probe and also for providing orientation to doctors, posted at district hospital Doda. MLA Doda appealed PHE minister Taj Mohi-Ud-Din for immediately deputing a quality control team along with trained chemical Engineer to all far off villages located in Bharath, Gundana, Bhagwah and Ghat blocks of Doda constituency for testing water quality of natural springs, streams & hand pumps.
