| Tata Teleservices to invest Rs 110 cr in Kolkata circle | | | Kolkata, Oct 27 Tata Teleservices Ltd would invest Rs 110 crore to expand network in the Kolkata circle within the current fiscal.
The company would take the total number of base stations to 350 from 280 at present, its COO-Kolkata Abhijit Pal said.
Tata Teleservices having a subscriber base of 75 lakh in Kolkata plans to reach the one million mark by March, 2007.
The company had already spent Rs 325 crore for network expansion in Kolkata till the last fiscal.
The telecom service provider today announced of crossing the one million customer mark in West Bengal.
The growth had been possible because of the tremendous growth in the past six months, Mr Pal added.
He said the company would launch services in the north east and Jammu and Kashmir soon after it obtains the licences of operating in the areas.
Former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly was present on the occasion of felicitation of the company officials for the achievement.
