Citizen’s meet held at Udhampur
Appeal for communal harmony

UDHAMPUR, Sept 19: To inform and advice district administration on public welfare issues regarding redressal of its grievances and promotion of peace, security, harmony at each level in the district, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Udhampur Baseer Ahmed Khan convened maiden meeting of members of Citizen Advisory Council (CAC) of district Udhampur .
Addressing the meeting, DDC appreciated local residents for showing highest degree of responsibility for protecting and maintaining age old traditions of communal harmony and brotherhood. He asked them to be more vigilant against nefarious designs of anti-social elements and not to pay any need to rumor mongering by miscreants for disturbing peaceful atmosphere in the district.
Terming corruption as a blot on the society, Khan said that it was the duty of the people to remain extra vigilant and keep a close eye on corrupt official in the district. To improve work culture in government offices and register public grievances, complaint cells would be setup at each tehsil headquarters soon under the supervision of the concerned tehsildar who would in turn submit the complaints to DDC for taking appropriate action on weekly basis,he said.
SSP,Udhampur Suriender Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that people of Udhampur are peace loving and would never give a chance to vested interests to shatter social fabric in the district. He cautioned people not to fall prey of anti-national elements who always try to create trouble on the name of religion and regionalism.
