| Farmers deputation raises demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Sept 19: A deputation of farmers of village Matandi in Lakhanpur area of Kathua district under the leadership of farmer Pawan Kumar met ex-Power Minister Babu Singh.
They said that the present installed transformer having the capacity of 63 kV is out of function and it is not the first time that the transformer has stopped working. They urged Babu Singh to upgrade capacity transformer from 63KV to 100 KV to feed 11 installed pump sets in the area to irrigate almost more than 45 acre agriculture land.
Ex-power minister Babu Singh heard demands of farmers patiently and made on spot efforts to tackle this problem of transformer by asking PDD maintenance wing and got immediate sanctioning of up gradation of the transformer from 63 KV to 100 KV. Farmers Ramesh Sharma, Badari Singh, Vijay Singh and Jarnail Singh were present in the deputation.
