| JKPP organizes ‘Balwant Ray Mehta- Memorial lecture’ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 19: ‘Balwant Ray G. Mehta memorial lecture’ was organized by Jammu Kashmir Panchayat parishad (JKPP) on the eve of 45th anniversary of founder president of All India Panchayat Parishad (AIPP)-Delhi. Jugal Kishore Gupta-President of JKPP was the chief guest while Dr.Gopal Sharma member, All India Panchayat council presided over the function. General secretary JKPP Bharat Mahajan on the occasion read out the message of S.S Vijal Mishra-Chief General Secretary AIPP and Member Expert Committee on Pancyayat Raj, Govt. of India; Nisar Ahmed Khan Ex. Minister, J&K Govt and Abdul Gani Naseem- Ex. M.L.A and Patron JKPP).
Surjit Ram Pal- Member All India Panchayat Council, in his lecture recalled the inspiring role of B.R Mehta-Founder President of AIPP in the movement of 3-Tier Panchayati Raj in India. Mohd Afzal vice-President of JKPP-District Kathua called B.R Mehta a great visionary of PRS in India. He stressed the need and importance of restoring panchayati Raj in J&K at the earliest possible. Rajinder Khajuria- Chairman of a social organization paid rich tributes to the dedicated services of Mehta for the noble cause of rural upliftment through strong PRI’s Deep Mala, Sonia Dutta, Mohd. Aslam, Shishu Pal and Veena Bhagat also paid their humble tributes on this occasion. |
